SkinMama FAQ

Straight answers about how SkinMama works, what happens to your data, and how the app fits into your skincare routine.

How does SkinMama’s AI skin analysis work?

You capture or upload a facial/skin photo in the app, and SkinMama processes it to generate non-medical skin analysis outputs — indicators, scores, and progress over time — and to build personalised AM/PM routine recommendations. Photos are only processed when you actively submit them for a scan.

Does SkinMama replace a dermatologist or doctor?

No. SkinMama provides skincare insights for informational and cosmetic/self-care purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, it does not create a doctor–patient relationship, and it does not replace professional medical advice. For a medical concern, see a qualified professional.

Is my data private, and what do you do with my photos?

SkinMama processes the facial/skin photos you submit to produce your analysis and track changes over time. It stores your scan history — including uploaded images, derived results, indicators, and scores. You can delete your account from in-app profile settings to remove associated data.

Do you sell my personal information or use my content to train AI?

No. SkinMama does not sell your personal information. Third-party AI processors are not permitted to use your submitted content for advertising or model training unless you explicitly consent. Information is shared only as needed to operate the service — for example cloud hosting, analytics, diagnostics, and AI inference.

Does the AI advisor store my chat history?

No user-accessible chat history is kept. Messages are processed to generate responses and may be handled temporarily for service operation, safety, and troubleshooting.

How much does SkinMama cost?

You can start free. The premium subscription is $14.99 per month, or $59.99 per year (about $5.00 per month). Pricing and billing terms are shown at purchase, and payments are processed by Apple or Google.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Subscriptions may auto-renew unless canceled according to the App Store or Google Play rules, and you can cancel anytime through your platform’s subscription settings. Refunds are governed by the applicable platform’s policies.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open SkinMama, go to Profile / Settings, select Delete Account, and follow the steps — in-app deletion is typically processed immediately. If you can’t access the app, email support@skinmama.app from your account address with the subject “SkinMama Account Deletion Request”. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, scan history, uploaded images, and derived results.

Are my skin photos and scan history stored, and can I turn that off?

Scan/analysis features store your scan history, and it cannot be turned off while your account is active. To remove it, delete your account. When you delete your account, associated personal information and scan history are removed from production systems, except where limited retention is legally required.

Is the community forum public?

Yes. SkinMama includes a public forum, and content you post — including app-generated analysis results, product recommendations, and routine details — may be visible to other users and shared outside the service. Don’t create a post if you don’t want that information to be public.

Is there a minimum age to use SkinMama?

Yes. You must be at least 13 years old to use SkinMama. It is not intended for children under 13, and personal information is not knowingly collected from them.

Does SkinMama check for ingredient conflicts?

Yes. SkinMama includes an ingredient conflict checker. You can also browse plain-language answers to common “can I use these together?” questions on the ingredient conflicts guide.

SkinMama provides skincare information for educational and cosmetic self-care purposes only — not medical advice. See the Privacy Policy and Terms for full details.
